Website Wednesday—Shark Pool Place Value

We’ve been practicing our place value skills and working on our understanding of tens and ones.  This game will help your child practice this important skill at home.

Place Value Shark Pool

To play, count the green blocks on the surfboard and find the bubble that matches the number.  As your child gains experience and a solid understanding of tens and ones, he should be able to look at a ‘rod’ and know there are ten blocks there.  This will make counting the total number of blocks easier as your child will soon not need to count each block individually, but rather will be able to ‘see’ the number of blocks based on the arrangement.

This game also helps your child practice identifying two digit numbers.

Happy counting,
