The Week in Review– First 3 weeks version

Hello everybody!

I finally have blog permissions in order and am ready to show you what we’ve been up to.  This post will be a bit longer than a usual review because it covers 3 weeks.

We’ve been busy learning routines, making friends, and learning!

Up first are our morning messages.  Each day, there is a message for students to read.  It often talks about topics we will learn about throughout the day.  Sometimes it is written ‘just for fun.’  We also do sight word, phonics, and vocabulary work through the message.

Next is Daily 5 work.  Throughout the year, I will share more detailed information about the aspects of the Daily 5 and how we learn to become better readers and writers through independent work.   In these photos, you will see students practicing Read-to-Self.  There are also photos of the anchor charts that we have made to help us be independent in our work.

Our school participates in the Free Fruits and Vegetables program.  Three days each week, we get to try various fruits and vegetables.  So far we have tried watermelon, peaches, plums, pluots, zucchini, green peppers, and squash.

Our days get so busy, I sometimes forget to pick up the camera to record our fun.  Here are a few shots of us and our work with letters, numbers, PE, and other activities.

We hope you’ve enjoyed seeing some of what we’ve been up to.  Enjoy your weekend and remember that there’s no school on Monday.
